Cora is resting with Jesus

A celebration of Cora's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 10, at Grace Community Church, 1600 S. Anderson Rd. Newton, Kansas. Burial will follow at the Pleasant View Cemetery in rural Elbing.

In lieu of sending flowers, a memorial has been established to construct the Cora Playground, an extension of the children's ministries department at Grace Community Church. For a tax deductible donation, please make checks out to the church with "Cora's Playground" in the memo. Options for online donations include: a tax deductible donation through Grace Community Church's website or the Cora PayPal button on this site (this would not be tax deductible).

  1. I am calling on people to pray for you.

Little girl whom your father loves, much more than we can know.
Little girl that your mommy misses, will the tears every stop their flow.
Little Girl, in your Father's arms, you're missed, oh, so much.
Little girl, your perfect now, but your parents long to touch.
Little girl, bend your ear, to Jesus as he prays.
"Father send your comfort down, help mommy through this day".
Little Girl, time so short, the world never knew you were here.
Little Girl, we do now, and your memories we'll hold dear.
Little Girl, safe and warm, rest in God's strong embrace.
Little girl, some day soon, mommy and daddy will again kiss your face.

  9. Heard about Cora through a friend. Have been reading your blogs and our prayer group in Goddard has been praying. We continue to lift you up in prayer. I feel time is short and that Jesus will reunite you with your precious little angel when he returns in the clouds of glory very soon. It's so comforting to know that we have this HOPE. Treisa

  10. I am so deeply saddened by your loss of your sweet baby girl. I heard through Kelli's blog, and have had your family in our prayers. We had a loss in our family right before Christmas and I am comforted in knowing that we will be together again. Turn to the Lord for he will comfort you.

  13. God Be with you. There are no words at a time like this. I went through the death of a baby girl with a couple I know this past July. The only thing I still do as of today is to as our Lord to let you feel His loving arms around you. I ask that He give you faith, strength, hope, and peace. Just know that your precious baby is at peace, no pain, and living the life we all wait for.

We have shed tears for your baby girl whom we have never known, but we rejoice that she is no longer suffering and that we can see your strong faith in Christ which gives all the hope we need to continue. Please know that our family is praying for you both to experience healing, peace, and comfort from the ONE who holds all of life in His hands.

  26. I am so sorry for your loss. I had to come here and donate a little something for Cora's playground. I've been getting up in the middle of the night with my teething 18 month old. I rock her and pat her back and think of your family the entire time. I know you would give anything to rock Cora again and for her to be healthy. Thank you for sharing your story and reminding us all to hold our little ones tightly, always. You will continue to be in my prayers and I hope someday you find peace in your heart as Cora is playing on the best playground in the world right now.

  27. Your story is heart wrenching and my thoughts are with you tonight. I have posted Cora's logo on my blog and I pray it brings more donations.

A Max Lucado book 'Traveling Light' gave me wise insight during a time when I was grieving the death of a loved one.

It says God does what is good. Our God is good. And though we do not understand it, Gods reasons for taking our loved ones are good.

Her time on earth was too brief and all too short but a persons days on earth are but a drop in the ocean compared to eternity.

May God be with you in your time of mourning. Your story of Cora will remain with me. Thank you for sharing her with us all.
